I went to the salad spot while visiting friends in Boca Raton. This place rocks! I am from California, and typically on the lookout for delicious, healthy lunch options, and found that and much more! They have sooooooo many options for making an amazing salad, it can actually be a little overwhelming when you walk in the door. I decided on a mango, avocado, feta cheese, cranberry, sunflower seed salad with a vinaigrette dressing, and it was amazing. I also tried my friend's lentil soup that she got at the hot bar, and it was fantastic. Another plus was that the owner was there and was super friendly! This place was a breath of fresh air, when most businesses I encountered in Florida were just chain stores. I love supporting local businesses, especially when their products are top quality! Highly recommended!

A yummy fresh selection of veggies, cheeses, soups and more! I built a very nice size salad for $9 which in Boca is a great price especially since you choose the ingredients and amounts! Will be back! Thank you!

This has become one of my top 3 spots for lunch. Salad spot is indeed a hidden gem. The selection is everything you could want. From amazingly prepared salads, to all individual ingredients you may desire to build your perfect salad. They even carry fresh soups which are awesome to say the least. One of the biggest reasons I love this place though, is the atmosphere and the friendly environment created by the staff. ED and his team really go out of their way to ensure your experience is nothing less than stellar. They even make my custom salad requests which make my day every single time! Thanks Salad Spot!

Yum!!! Fresh and so much to choose from. Very welcoming staff as well! Will be back very soon ......

I go there for lunch and the place is so simple. You pick up a plate, pick out the ingredients you want for your salad or wrap and they weigh your plate. Extremely healthy and cheap for having such high quality ingredients. A 1 pound salad is about 8 bucks and you are getting exactly what you want. Very friendly staff.

OMG, where has this place been all my life? I stumbled upon this place looking for the subway next door and decided to give this place a try. This place is a salad lovers dream if you are looking to build a salad to go. I took away one star because I was a bit lost as far as where the togo boxes were and where to start as there was really no staff around to make sure you are okay. I ended up figuring it out and I am a fan.

I visit Salad Spot at least once a week. Their food and ingredients are so fresh! Any time I plan on getting a salad I don't consider going anywhere else. The staff is ridiculously friendly, they remember your name, they check to make sure you're enjoying your meal...You really feel cared about as a customer when you eat there and I think that's so important for a business! I definitely recommend this place!

A coworker took me here today for lunch. This was my first and last time here. I will give the selection and freshness of the food an A++, but had I known the cost of this salad place, I would have never came to eat here. I walked in to see two huge salad bars in the middle and a side counter with soups and extras. I get a to-go container for my salad, which only had vegetables and a tiny portion of pasta on top. I weighed out 5 oz of chicken and put 2 tiny containers of dressing on the side. I proceeded to check out at the register and the lady says, put everything on the scale please, including the dressing. Um, really? Would you like to weigh out my napkin and fork also? Then, with a straight face, she looks at me and says, "ok hun, your total today is "$14.30. HUH, come again???!! So, I was so stunned that I just handed over my credit card to avoid embarrassment because they knew my coworker. It should be illegal to charge these kinds of prices for salad!!! I was expecting between $9-10 at most. NOT almost $15 for a salad. I don't think this place will be in business much longer. unless she changes the price!

This is my new favorite restaurant. As a gluten free vegan, it's SO hard to find a restaurant that I don't have to scrutinize the menu to eat there. The salad spot is a clean, cute, organic salad bar with delicious build-your-own attitudes. I'll definitely be back, and I'm bringing everyone I know

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Boca! This is buffet style with salads and soups. A ton of fresh, healthy options to chose from. A few of my favorites are the crab salad, sweet potato salad, balsamic artichokes and mushrooms, and the Asian style noodles! They price by weight. They have a cooler of fun drinks. Also, I noticed they began growing their own herbs recently. They have also added some organic options. I highly recommend! I wish they were open later! I almost forgot, terrific service, such nice people!

It's a great place with nice people. The salad bar has a good selection of salad, veggies, proteins, etc. highly recommended.

First time visiting , found it on yelp. As soon as I walked in staff recognized it was my first time since everyone knows the drill, visit either of the two stacked salad bars, bumping elbows but everyone is friendly, then i made my way to the soup bar in the back and they had 4 daily soups, I went with split pea. Once you have made your selections, they weigh it and you pay . I had a very light salad and a small soup under $10. Perfect portion for me and I loved it. Very busy at lunch time but plenty of seating either outside or inside. Because the staff was super friendly and the selections were uber fresh, I totally recommend it.

Not a bad lunch spot if you're into salad. I tried to find it 30 minutes prior to closing time and just barely made it. There is no sign over the door, no signs around the shopping center it's located in, and the phone number did not work. They were no soup options when I got there; either they had already closed the soup stations, or they didn't have them. There are two big salad stations with a fair amount of extras to place on them. I didn't find anything that appetizing, however for those who are into salads, you'll probably enjoy it. Ended up being around $5 and change a salad. Considering Boca prices for salad, I'd say that this was a fairly good deal in terms of price. I probably won't be back because it's a bit out of the way for me, but even if I was closer, I'm not sure I'd be very apt to return either. Then again, I'm not into the whole salad craze, so take that for what it is worth. Food (C), Pricing (B-), Atmosphere (B-), Service (B)

Best place to get a FRESH salad! Everything here is grown with love and the purpose to make our bellies happy. Highly recommend you get their homemade poppy seed dressing. The service here is 5 stars!

I love this place. The owner (I believe he is the owner - always working the register) is very friendly along with the lady that works alongside him. The selection is plentiful to build a salad of your liking. There is also fresh made soups and various hot items (meatballs, grilled chicken, taco beef, etc). It's normally $7.49/pound for the salad bar which I think is reasonable for fresh quality food and could get pricey if you choose to overindulge. The space is tight while navigating the two salad bars during the lunch hour rush and there is limited seating inside. There is more seating outside that is shared among the other nearby (counter-service) restaurants. There is plenty of parking, although again, it will be busy during the lunch hours and you may have to walk a little "far" (depends on your definition of far). Given the location, this is a good healthier option than some of the chain restaurants in the area.

Finally a great fast fresh soup and salad lunch spot. They have an amazing array of options for your salad all fresh and constantly being refilled. I personally go for the soups. The lentil and split pea are my favorite!!!! I take them to go and will have for a couple days until I get back there. The prices are very reasonable.

Great lunch spot; buffet akin to Whole Foods'. Good value and wide selection of produce, proteins and superfoods (chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax, etc.).

  • Ed R.

Great selection of stuff for your salad. Can't leave here hungry. Tons of organic vegetables and the staff is very curious and helpful. The place was packed for 2pm and every think was fresh. Highly recommended

Perfect place to grab a healthy lunch during a meal break at work or otherwise. Tons of tasty options in a pay by the pound setting. I was a fan of the Bombay (curry) chicken, the spicy olive mix, the spicy hummus, and the homemade vinagrette that made up the foundation of my salad. As others have stated, the owner of the place seems very friendly. Prices are a tad high, bur you are getting good quality food here. Definitely a solid option if you are looking for quick, tasty, and healthy.

Great place!! Huge selection of greens and all sorts of toppings. Great dressings and friendly staff. The salad spot charges by weight but it is worth it. Reasonably priced and would definitely recommend this place for someone looking to have a great salad. They have several options for proteins, both hot and cold.

  • Olivier G.

This place has very good and fresh greens, the choice in the salad bar is pretty large. It is a pricey but worth it if you like salad bars. And the owner is super nice!

Giving 5 stars to a salad bar place could seem crazy unless you have eaten here. It is just plain the best food for the $$ around. It is very clean, ultra fresh, and with original recipe items that are more than great! They have lots of organic and the ingredients listed are listed - including on the quality salad dressings. This salad bar is WAY better than the Whole Foods salad bar. I hope I don't kick myself for writing this when the line gets longer and longer, but the owner and staff are so professional and nice and such great business people that I just have to share!! This is a fantastic small American business employing others for the good of society.

I found myself in an area of Boca that I'm rarely in (Yamato and just west of 95 in the Boca Village shops) and as I hadn't had lunch yet, I was open to whatever happened to catch my eye. I saw the logo in the window and was immediately intrigued. It's a self service salad bar, offering fresh prepared salads and a nice selection of assorted lettuces, proteins and gourmet toppings. They also have made from scratch soups and more. The person behind the counter was very nice and helpful to anyone in for the first time to explain how things work there. I liked it very much and will definitely be back.

This really is a great place. This may be the cleanest and nicest restaurant I've ever been to, and I am not that easy to please. The owner is so nice and helpful and I highly recommend this place. Fresh and often home grown lettuce, more choices than you need and competitive prices. Always a good meal at this place.

The Salad Spot is amazing!! This restaurant is well-run, the staff is super friendly and goes above and beyond to make sure you were happy with your salad experience. For you environmentalists and health nuts (like myself, haha), they recently replaced their styrofoam cups used for soups, beans, rice, etc with paper cups!! How many restaurants do you know who not only listen to their customers' feedback, but actually act on it?? While The Salad Spot can get busy during lunch times, it's because there is nothing else around that offers their selection of fresh vegetables, beans, hummus, soup, etc. Their kitchen staff will take your salad picked by you from the salad bar, and make a wrap for you as well. Excellent customer-focus and quality fresh vegetables. One of my favorite places to eat lunch.

I love building my own salad! This is a nice change of pace from Whole Foods' similar set up because it has friendly management and a wide array of homemade creative options. If only they had just a little more square footage. It gets a little cramped - what with all the tables 'n chairs 'n patrons gumming up the mix. You may find yourself knocking elbows, or even waiting your turn. Just make sure to ignore whoever is in your way. I think it goes without saying to never say excuse me. Why be polite? Who has the time? Don't even acknowledge your fellow human's presence, I mean, this is Boca after all... Also, if you are not familiar with building your own salad, you are billed upon weight. There are some laughable complaints on here that this place is expensive. You are getting fresh and plentiful ingredients without any of the preparation or clean up. Unless you are buying way too much food, you are not paying more than $11 for your salad, which is less than what you will get at most restaurants.

  • Allison K.

They have sample cups so you can try something to make sure you like it before putting it in salad. Also remember your eyes are often bigger than your stomach! The people there were very nice and friendly and were walking around offering free samples of gazpostho which was kind. The veggies were fresh tasting and there was a great variety. How it works is you fill up a container to make your own salad and they weigh it for price. It came out to be pretty reasonable. They have chicken, tofu, tuna salad and much more. They could have a greater selection of unique dressings but what they did have was good! I reccomend walking around to see everything they have before filling up your container.

I just had a delicious salad there and the older guy working there is the sweetest kindest ever. He really wanted to make sure everyone was enjoying what they had. You can tell he really cares about the place which is really nice. My only compliant was that I got avocado in my salad which tasted funny- probably wasn't fresh. But everything else was great.

Amazing. Fresh everything! The hot bat and salad bar were so good. They have home made dreading, fresh vegetables, meat .... Everything. Price might be an issue for some, but if you peon your salads it isn't till costly. It's hard to control yourself but toy can split the portion. Worth it either way.

Tried this place again for lunch with a co-worker after the owner/manager responded to my first Yelp review. I've kept them at a 3 but ONLY because the food selection is so good. I'll cut to the chase. Food selection -- A+ LOTs of choices! Love the selection! The ONLY reason to return. Price -- B- They raised it to $7.49 -- I don't eat a ton, but somehow ended up spending $12 on my salad. WOW! Ambiance -- D They only provide a choice of styrofoam or plastic containers. My co-worker and I took a late lunch. As we were leaving our outside table at 2pm to go throw away our plastic containers (I CRINGE that they STILL don't have REAL plates and utensils!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) the garbage can outside was so overflowing with trash that people had started to pile their garbage up on one of the patio tables. What is so difficult about keeping an eating area clean and free of garbage? Message for owner/manager -- If you're only going to offer disposable containers, how about you keep up on the huge mess of garbage you're creating outside before you fill our landfills any more with the mess?

This is a fresh, healthy, self serve establishment. With all kinds of greens and toppings and even pre-made side pasta salads. There is hot foods, soups and the staff is very friendly and hard working. ( I have not seen anything empty when ever I have been there.)

I went to this place a couple days ago on my lunch break. I did not know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The concept is you grab a container and start filling it up with whatever you want. You can build a salad, a wrap or even tacos. After you make your selection they weigh your container to see what to charge. They also offer soups. They had so much to choose from. I was really happy to see that in addition to meat they also have vegan choices including seasoned tofu and hummus. They had a wide variety of fresh vegetables and dressings. There are also fruits and nuts to choose from as well. I decided to build a wrap. I walked around the salad bar and made my selections. After I was done I brought the tray to the kitchen and handed it off to the staff. They asked me what kind of wrap I wanted as they have several flavors to choose from. Within a few minutes they had chopped up my ingredients and fitted them into the spinach flavored wrap i had requested. I went to pay and choose my drink. My food and drink came out to a little over $6.00 which I thought was very reasonable for a quick lunch. I would recommend The Salad Spot and will go back.

I decided to try the Salad Spot since I have always seen it but never thought about actually trying it. I regret not trying this place sooner! You walk in and you already have this good feeling that you're going to get something good. The place is clean and everything is labeled so you know what you're getting. I like the pay by pound concept because I tend to eat smaller portions. I noticed they have soups and taco shells to make a taco salad. I also saw homemade drinks too. My salad and lemonade cost about $7 and I enjoyed it. I'll definitely be back! And a bonus, the staff is super friendly!

My first time there and it was a great experience. I will go back again and update my review accordingly, but let me tell you how good my lunch today was. It is a make your own salad place, with all the bins and tongs to grab whatever you want to put in your box to make whatever you please with so many selections you could really get crazy up in there. Vegetarians, vegans, carnivores could all be happy eating at the same table (I mean as long as they were okay eating together), anyone can find something to eat. Even if you don't like regular salad, who said you had to start with lettuce? (boring!) There are noodle salads, chicken salad, egg salad...you get the idea... And then there is a bunch of soup and hot things. I did not try any of them. But they were there! As for the price...I got a pretty basic salad with lettuce (I know, not feeling too creative today) and then jazzed it up with some egg, tofu, veggies, seeds, olive oil, balsamic, and the box was pretty full I did not think I could eat it all. It came to about $12. I felt like it was reasonable given the selection and since I thought I was probably going to take 1/2 home, (2 salads at $6 each?). If I sat down in a restaurant I certainly would have gotten A. 1/50th of the selection. B. paid $15 for $6 worth of salad. Also the staff were very friendly. There was a man and a woman there managing the place and a few others keeping everything clean so it was not like a salad bar you might see where people get crazy and the ingredients get all mixed together. And the green tea with ginger was yummy to top it off! The guy said they brew it fresh there every day.

  • Alex G.

Decent size salad bar with fresh items in a clean space. They charge based on weight, which makes it easy just to take what you want without complicating charges. Management was friendly and the place is well run. My only suggestion is that the "flow" of the salad bar and line makes for a lot of bumping into people and doubling back. I'd suggest they lay out a line with a proper sign, instructing people how to flow thru without blocking customers. Other than that, this is a great place for a healthy bite!

    (4)
  • Danielle R.

Fast, friendly, convenient, healthy, but pricey.... I really like going here, but I always seem to have a $14 salad. There's a ton of variety here they basically have it all from soup to nuts! They have a bunch of soups and sometimes they have another random hot meal like make your own Tacos. I also like that they have outside seating.

    (4)
  • Christina S.

Fresh ingredients with lots of choices. The salad bar is self serve and weighed. The salad bar is a little cramped and confusing as people are heading in different directions! Organization people! Not a lot of seating, but a great place to grab a tasty salad on your lunch hour. The price per pound is not cheap, but it is fresh. I got an average size salad with lots ingredients and selections for about $10.

In the mood for a salad "your way" well this is the place for you!! My wife and I found this place yesterday and we loved it. We both piled all the fresh ingredients we could into our containers and it only came to $20. For the amount of food we got $20 was very low. Everything we saw looked fresh and delicious and nothing tasted like it came out of a package. My only complaint is that the place is small and at times very hard to move around the salad tables. There were about 15 people in the restaurant with us and we constantly bumped into people. It became really annoying but completely forgettable once we dove into our salads.

  • J G.

Great quality of food...plenty of options...great place to find healthy food..unfortunately the pricing is based on the weight of the food...today I had conservatively built my salad to appease my taste and to keep the price reasonable...I decided to put my dressing in the little tiny to go plastic containers ..upon paying, the cashier told me that my dressing needed to be added to the total weight of the food...I then asked to weigh my salad dressing to find out how much it would be by itself...my dressing, which was in a tiny "to go" container was 2.20 cents...talk about bottom line profits...my salad came to 11 dollars (built very conservative)...pricing is ridiculous

I had a great experience at the salad spot. Me and my boss went for lunch and my salad was absolutely delicious. They also have taco shells which was a fun twist. All their ingredients were extremely fresh. I had guacamole, salsa, black beans and peas plus proteins. The best part was Ed who was working the cash register. He was so nice and friendly. It was refreshing to see someone so sweet and enthusiastic. Every customer that he helped he asked them how their day was and how they were feeling. I would recommend this to anyone. Pros: fresh ingredients, great customer service. Cons: I wish the place was a little bigger and they had some music playing.

It's a good idea but it's too expensive. I work close to here and I love salads so I would probably come here most days if it wasn't so expensive. I paid over 13.00 for a salad and a water and it wasn't that big or loaded with heavy toppings. I won't be coming here again because of the prices!

Oh, how I love the Salad Spot! Anything you could possibly want on your salad is right here. Located right off of Yamato Road and I-95, this little gem is tucked away in a shopping plaza next to Starbucks & Einstein Brothers. When I first started working up on this end earlier this year, I was told by some co-workers that The Salad Spot was a must. Since my first visit back in June, I've become one of their regulars! The possibilities here are endless. You can make any salad into a wrap and they have a wide array of soups available everyday. They have lettuce, spinach, mixed greens, arugula, avocado, tomatoes, quinoa salad, different cheeses, egg, dried fruit, regular fruit (mangoes, tangerines, grapes, etc), nuts & seeds and a variety of pasta salads that allow you to customize your salad to make it your own. They offer a variety of proteins that you can include on your salad as well like the curry chicken salad which is my absolute favorite. I've realized when I use that I don't need to waste calories on salad dressing so that's always a plus! The choice is yours whether to create a healthy salad or a really fattening one. I recommend limiting your portions and thinking about everything you're putting into your container because at $7.49 a pound, your salad can wind up costing you anywhere in the ballpark of $12-15 so be careful so that you don't end up with sticker shock at the register! If i know I'm going here for lunch, I would bring my own lettuce, tomatoes and avocado from home and add them to my salad once I've paid. Tomatoes and avocado are considerably heavy so they can easily drive up the price on your meal so I keep that in mind when creating my salad masterpiece. The owner is a sweet gentleman who is always extremely polite. He's very attentive and always ask patrons dining in if they need anything like napkins and utensils. Of course, he wants to make sure that you're enjoying your meal as well. I truly enjoy going to this eatery for lunch because I can create a different salad for each day of the week and never get bored! If you're looking for a change-up from your typical, boring chicken salad, head on over to The Salad Spot where they'll be sure to jazz up your take on salads!
